| The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) or the Municipal Council serves as the legislative arm of the Municipal Government. The body enacts ordinances, lays down policies and programs for the upliftment of the community. |
| Pursuant to the provisions of the Republic Act 7160 better known as the Local Government Code of 1991, the Municipal Vice Mayor heads the Sangguniang Bayan Office. The Municipal Vice-Mayor is also the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Bayan during its regular and special sessions. | |

| The Sangguniang Bayan (SB), is composed of ten (10) Councilors, eight (8) of which were directly elected by the people while the two (2) serve in an Ex-Officio capacity, i.e., the Presidents of the Association of Barangay Captains, (ABC) and the Sanguniang Kabataan Federation, (SK). |
| The Municipal Councilors assist the Vice-Mayor in formulating Municipal Ordinances and Resolutions. |
