San Mateo has a variety of conveyances that provide the residents with ready means of transportation. These are public utility jeepneys, buses, tricycles, pedicabs and even Tamaraw FX taxis operating in the town. These facilitate the movement of people and goods to Metro Manila and nearby towns of Rizal.
There are two jeepney terminals in San Mateo, one at Modesta Village, Barangay Sto Niño, and Tierra Monte, Barangay Silangan, respectively.
Transportation routes passing San Mateo, are Montalban-Cubao (jeepneys), San Mateo-Cubao (jeepneys), & Marikina San Mateo (jeepneys). These routes traverses Quezon City, Marikina, San Mateo and Montalban. Jeepneys are the most common form of transportation within the municipality because of its convenience and low fare as compared to other forms of transportation. Other modes are tricycles and pedicabs which are used mainly to transport people and goods where regular jeepney routes are not available. |
